Vysokogorsky Ore Mining and Processing Plant is the oldest mine of the Urals, it will soon celebrate its 300th anniversary. Nowadays VGOK is a complete cycle of the production chain from mining to manufacturing and sales of ready products in the form of a profound redistribution of iron ore concentrate and agglomerate to sinter processing.
The structure of the plant includes three mines: "Magnetitovaya", "Estyuninskaya" and "Southern", as well as open pit (three vacancies) "Vysokogorsky processing plant", "Lebyazhye agloshop", "Enterprise Railway" and a number of small shops that work on providing primary production.
On the balance of Vysokogorsky GOK there is more than 300 million tons of iron ore. The mine "Estyuninskaya" alone is provided with 250 million tons of reserves in producing field. Mine "Southern", operating Goroblagodatskaya fields, has 70 million tons of reserves in excess. In the northern part of the mine "Magnetitovaya" 3.6 million tons of ore are found. This will prolong the life of the mine and make it possible to work out the remaining stock for 5 more years.
In 2012 the plant extracted 1 million tons of limestone and 4.6 million tons of iron ore.
VGOK strategy is not limited to the development of the iron ore base only. Also, negotiations about the construction of the drying of wet separation of iron ore concentrate are under way, which will provide ready product for transportation of in winter. The problem of increasing the production capacity of Vysokogorsky processing plant with increased iron content in the concentrate is under discussion. Search for new products is on, the geography of consumers is being broadened.
